The new Broadcasting Code will be proposed for public debates and will be submitted to the Venice Commission for consideration after it is drafted and presented by the working group. The announcement was made in the meeting of the working group for improving the legislation on the media that was constituted on the initiative of Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu, IPN reports.
According to the Parliament’s press service, the meeting discussed the work done by the eight thematic working subgroups. The members of these subgroups informed that the draft documents are almost ready, but they asked for more time for some of the bills.
The thematic subgroup set up to draft a new Broadcasting Code has time until Decenter to carry out its tasks. The working group for improving the legislation on the media is a platform for communication and cooperation between Parliament, representatives of media outlets and media NGOs. The group was created in June this year.
