The last tranche of 12 ambulances of the lot of 69 ambulances bought at the start of this year were distributed to 12 emergency medical assistance substations and points in the districts of Edineț, Dondușeni, Briceni, Rezina, Șoldănești, Orhei, Ialoveni, Nisporeni, Coșnița, and Căușeni on September 24, IPN reports.

According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, the ambulances meet all the international standards in the field and are outfitted to provide emergency medical assistance at the highest level.

“The renewal of the car pool of the subdivisions of the National Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Assistance Center will help ensure better conditions for providing medical services and greater swiftness in dealing with emergencies, especially in rural areas,” said the head of the Rezina substation Svetlana Sapaniuc.

Another 170 ambulances are to be purchased in 2019 under a loan agreement signed by the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Council of Europe Development Bank. Of these, 35 will be units of transport of type C (intensive care ambulances), while 133 will be of type B (first aid ambulances).
