New agreement with EU

The Republic of Moldova signed an agreement with the European Union concerning the security procedures for exchanging and protecting classified information. The document was signed by Prime Minister Pavel Filip and High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini, Vice President of the European Commission, in Brussels, IPN reports.

According to the Government’s press service, Pavel Filip and Federica Mogherini took stock of the developments in the Republic of Moldova, including the main results achieved in implementing the Association Agenda for 2014-2016. The officials also exchanged opinions on the cooperation within the Eastern Partnership.

The Premier reasserted the Moldovan Government’s firm commitment to implement the reforms agreed with the International Monetary Fund and the European Union, noting that the public administration and pension system reforms are a priority. “We will take into account the recommendations of the EU, both those contained in the recent report and those formulated in the process of negotiating the Association Agenda,” stated the Premier.

Pavel Filip paid a working visit to Belgium and Luxemburg between March 29 and April 1. On March 31, the Premier took part in the third meeting of the EU – Moldova Association Council in Brussels.
