Moldova and Romania are to sign an agreement on the mutual recognition of diplomas, certificates and scientific and scientific-teaching titles. The Parliament’s commission on foreign policy and European integration approved the consultative notice on the initiation of negotiations and the signing of the agreement, IPN reports.
The document contains regulations for the mutual recognition of documents of study obtained before the adoption of the Bologna Process. There will also be recognized and equaled the documents of study obtained in general education of Moldova 10 or 11 years ago.
Currently, the academic and professional recognition procedures are performed based on the agreement between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Government of Romania on the mutual recognition of diplomas, certificates and scientific titles provided by education institutions accredited in Moldova and Romania. This was signed in 1998 and modified in 2010. Meanwhile, the education systems of Moldova and Romania have continuously modernized and improved.
