The village Gura Galbenei of Cimislia district will have its own rescuers and firefighting station that will serve four neighboring villages. Contacted by IPN, Diana Turcan, press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, said six civilian firefighters will work there. They will be trained by specialists in emergencies.

The station will have a firefighting vehicle and equipment needed to deal with fires, floods and other situations. It will serve the villages Hartop, Albina, Lipoveni and Ivancea Noua. Employees’ salaries will be set by the local administration. The Civil Protection and Emergencies Service will contribute the necessary equipment and the firefighting vehicle and will train the employees.

Diana Turcan said that until now Gura Galbenei was served by the emergencies section of Cimislia district, which is situated 20 kilometers away.

The firefighting stations are set up in accordance with the national strategy for strengthening the rescuers and firefighting service in the rural settlements of Moldova for 2012-2016. The goal is to deal more swiftly with fires in villages.

The station in Gura Galbenei is the ninth opened within the national program. The first was set up Saiti village of Causeni district in December 2011. Afterward, there were opened stations in Taraclia village of the same district, Cosnita of Dubasari, Cotiujenii Mari of Soldanesti, Oniscani of Calarasi, Puhoi of Ialoveni, Mandresti of Telenesti, and Mihaleni of Rascani.
