Moldova enjoys immense support from Dutch authorities: the Netherlands is for canceling the visa regime for Moldovans and is willing to offer help to our country in many areas. The statement was made by Moldovan Prime Minister Iurie Leanca during a meeting with Moldovans living in the Netherlands, IPN reports.
According to a press release of the Government, the event took place at the recently inaugurated building of the Moldovan Embassy in The Hague, where more than 50 members of the Moldovan diaspora came to talk to the prime minister.
Iurie Leanca spoke about the negotiations with the KLM airline to reopen the Chisinau-Amsterdam flight, news welcomed by the diaspora members. The PM encouraged his fellow nationals to return to Moldova and told them about projects designed to help returning migrants with starting a businesses.
Deputy Prime Minister Natalia Gherman, who is also Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, stressed that the next goal of the Ministry is to negotiate a social protection agreement with the Netherlands. “I'm sure we'll get an approval in this regard”, she said.
The representatives of the Moldovan community in the Netherlands were especially interested in the education reform in Moldova. According to embassy data, most of the Moldovan diaspora members there are students at the universities of Rotterdam, The Hague, Amsterdam and Groningen. Many of them work in the financial sector and are employed by large companies.
One of the 129 Moldovans settled in the Netherlands is Viorel Roscovan, who was named Best Professor of 2013 at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam.
