The persons who enter Moldova as from March 5 will have to present a negative result of the PCR COVID-19 test done not earlier than 72 hours before arrival, IPN reports.

The National Extraordinary Public Health Commission decided that the children younger than 5, drivers working on freight and passenger transportation routes, crews of trains, planes and ships, members of delegations, transfrontier workers, passengers in transit and those who confirm the administration of the vaccine will not have to present the negative test result when entering the country.

The Moldovans who will not do a PCR COVID-19 test will have to self-isolate for 14 days, regardless of the area from which they come.

The authorities said the restriction measures were taken following the worsening of the COVID-19 situation in the recent past.

A record number of cases of
COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic was reported in Moldova on March 4 – 1,800. The number of infections now totals 191,197. The death toll from COVID-19 stands at 4,049, with 92 of the victims being health workers.
