The vice governor of the National Bank of Moldova, who was arrested two days ago, was banned from leaving the municipality of Chisinau and will be investigated outside remand.

Spokeswoman for the Prosecutor General’s Office Maria Vieru has told IPN that the vice governor cooperated with the prosecutors and made statements over this case. That’s why the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office decided to investigate him on the outside.

As to the former vice governor and the division head of the NBM, the prosecutors requested to place these under arrest for 30 days. The court is to pronounce on March 7.

Besides the three persons under investigation (NBM vice governor Aureliu Cincilei, ex-vice governor Emma Tăbârță and division head Ion Ropot), the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office is also investigating former governor Dorin Drăguțanu, who was remanded in custody for 30 days.

The criminal investigation measures are carried out in connection with the bank fraud case.
