The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) offers employment opportunities to young specialists by attracting them with international training programs and possibilities of professional growth at the central bank and at other institutions of the country, IPN reports.
“It is pretty clear that we cannot find qualified specialists on the labor market as the work at the National Bank of Moldova is specific. Applying to take part in internships at the institution is the most successful start,” Natalia Zabolotnyi, who heads the NBM’s Strategy, Organization and Human Resources Department, stated in an event aimed at attracting people who would like to build a career at the central bank.
According to her, 50% of the institution’s employees have work experience of up to six years and there is a balance between new visions and institutional knowledge.
Natalia Zabolotnyi said the institutional capacity of the National Bank needs to be increased in the basic areas, such as monetary policy, banking supervision, regulation and authorization, and in the support and governance areas, such as accounting and reporting and the legal sector. The central bank has instruments that motivate the young people to work there. There is also the opportunity of working from a distance, but this becomes available in six months of work.
The employees of the NBM can also benefit from development possibilities, including at international level. Training programs for young specialists and also for employees with experience are also provided by other central banks, by international financial organizations or continuous learning organizations of central banks with which the National Bank of Moldova cooperates.
NBM governor Octavian Armașu said the institution permanently looks for young specialists with academic training in banks and finances, economists, mathematicians and IT engineers. “The National Bank will undertake a number of supervision responsibilities, such as supervision of the insurance sector, the sector of nonbank financial institutions. Our financial stability mandate is extended and we will therefore need new staff,” said the governor.
The young people who want to become employed at the National Bank of Moldova or to do internship there are encouraged to visit the official website of the institution.
