The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) has launched a design competition for jubilee and commemorative coins 2023. The deadline for the submission of design projects is May 19, 2pm, IPN reports.
The design projects must fall into the following categories: Series “Personalities”, “Moldova’s Monuments”, “Holidays, Culture, Traditions of Moldova”, “Others”.
The competition is open to individuals who have reached the age of 18, as well as legal entities, who can display their graphic vision on future coins. The number of drawings submitted by a participant for a topic is not limited. Participants are required to comply with copyright and related rights. By participating, the author of the design agrees to the processing of personal data.
The requirements regarding the design of the coins, the conditions of examination and evaluation, the method of remuneration, including other important details, are set out in the Design procedure for jubilee and commemorative coins 2023.
The first commemorative coin was issued by the NBM in 1996, in five years of the proclaiming of the independence of the Republic of Moldova. The commemorative coins have numismatic value and can be used as legal tender.
