The governor of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM) Octavian Armașu will be questioned in Parliament about the situation in the banking sector. The questioning will take place at the request of the MPs of the Bloc of Communists and Socialists, IPN reports.

Socialist Deputy Speaker Vlad Batrîncea said the legislative body must know what is happening in the banking sector. Everyone is concerned about the situation at the NBM. Last year, the foreign exchange reserves reached a record high of over US$4 billion, but now these are by over US$650 million lower. The MPs want to know the policies and arguments of the central bank.

The proposal to invite Octavian Armașu to shed light on the situation was supported also by the MPs of the Party of Action and Solidarity.
