Consumers will pay less for natural gas. The National Agency for Energy Regulation on Wednesday approved a charge of 13.39 lei (excluding VAT) for one cubic meter of gas in the case of low-pressure networks to which all household consumers and a part of non-household consumers are connected. Currently, this charge is 18 lei, IPN reports.

Following a request made by Moldovagaz, the Agency approved the following charges without VAT (which for natural gas is 8%):

- at entry points to natural gas transmission networks – 8,930 lei/1,000 m3;
- at exit points from natural gas transmission networks – 9,019 lei/1,000 m3;
- at exit points from high-pressure natural gas distribution networks – 9,129 lei/1,000 m3;
- at exit points exit from medium-pressure natural gas distribution networks – 10,076 lei/1,000 m3;
- at exit points from low-pressure natural gas distribution networks – 13,398 lei/1,000 m3.

The new charges will enter into force together with the publication of the Agency’s decision in the Official Gazette.
