The National Youth Council of Moldova will organize the workshop “Volunteer policies in partnership with East European countries” in Brussels. The seminar is designed to ensure the exchange of experience and good practices and the launch of new volunteer initiatives in Eastern Europe, Council member Aurelia Petrov stated for Info-Prim Neo.
The workshop will take place on September 9 and 10 and will be one of the over 100 activities carried out by the European Youth Forum within the II Youth Convention on Volunteering, which is a large-scale European event. “This grand event is held as part of the European Year of Volunteering 2011. It will bring together more than 1 500 young persons from all over Europe,” said Aurelia Petrov.
“By this seminar, we aim to stimulate the initiatives to create the legal volunteering framework in the countries of Eastern Europe. Another result of the workshop will be the recommendations made by the participants for the CIS Forum of Volunteer Initiatives that will take place in Chisinau in 2012.”
The workshop will bring together 12 young persons from Moldova, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Hungary, and Bulgaria. The travel expenses for the Moldovan participants were covered by the Ministry of Youth and Sport.
