The national women’s football team of Moldova climbed five spots to the 100th in the new FIFA Women’s World Rankings released on March 25 with 1,174 points, IPN reports.
According to the Moldovan Football Federation, the team trained by Alina Stetsenco is taking part in the second qualifying round of the 2017 UEFA European Women’s Championship. Among Moldova’s opponents in Group 4, the best positions are occupied by Sweden (6th), Denmark (18th), Poland (29th) and Slovakia (43rd). The next match for Moldova is the away encounter with Sweden of June 7.
The FIFA rankings are topped by the U.S., which is followed by Germany and France.
