The national Under 21 football team of Moldova won a 2-0 victory against Latvia’s team away within the 2017 European Championship qualifying competition. The goals were scored by Kristaps Zommers (self-goal) in the 65th minute and Dinu Graur in the last minute, IPN reports.
This success was also a nice present for Moldova manager Danut Stelian Oprea, who turned 44 on the day of the match. As a result of this victory, Moldova climbed to the fourth position in the group, being two points ahead of Malta and Latvia.
Moldova is to play the last two matches of the current qualifying round, both away - against the Czech Republic on October 7 and against Malta on October 11.
