The national Under 17 football team of Moldova failed to qualify for the Elite Round Groups of the UEFA European Championship after it lost the first two matches of the mini-tournament hosted by Moldova, IPN reports.
The team trained by Alexandru Guzun was beaten by Russia 0-5 and by Bosnia and Herzegovina 0-1. “The individual mistakes made throughout the year continued in these games too. Not even in the worst nightmares could I intuit that we would lose to Russia 0-5,” coach Alexandru Guzun told a news conference.
On September 28, Moldova plays against Latvia, which also has zero points. The match will be played at the Zimbru-2 stadium, starting at 4pm.
