Twelve national theaters of Moldova and Romania are taking part in the fourth Romanian National Theater Reunion during September 19-30. The event takes place in Chisinau and marks the 100th anniversary of the Great Union, IPN reports.
Director of the National Theater “Mihai Eminescu” of Chisinau Petru Hadârcă in the official opening of the event said the festival this year is a very important one, being dedicated to the Union Centenary, and all the plays that will be staged within the current edition were written by Romanian writers.
Secretary of state at the Ministry of Culture and National Identity of Romania Gheorghe Popa said the National Theater Reunion is a proof of the fact that our forerunners’ struggle for the Romanian ideals is appreciated.
“The National Theater Reunion is an event that started from a cultural exchange between two theaters, one from Romania and another one from the Republic of Moldova, and now we have all the national theaters of Romania and the Republic of Moldova coming together in Chisinau and this thing gladdens us a lot,” stated Andrei Chistol, secretary of state at the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research of Moldova.
