The National Terminology Center of the Moldovan Academy of Sciences will be named after the late linguist and journalist Constantin Tanase, IPN reports.
The decision of the Academy's Council for Science and Technological Development will be made public officially at a festive session of the Academy's General Assembly, occasioned by the Romanian Language Day on August 31. The event will be opened by the Academy's president Gheorghe Duca, who will deliver a congratulatory speech.
During the festivity, author Ion Hadirca, corresponding member of the Academy, will hold a public lecture themed “Language and Politics”. Also, a photo exhibition will be held in the Academy's lobby dedicated to the Romanian language. Later, the Academy's leadership will lay flowers at the Alley of Classics.
