National tennis squad beaten by Belarus

The national men’s tennis team of Moldova were defeated by Belarus 1-4 in the Davis Cup first round of the Euro-Africa Zone second group, Info-Prim Neo reports. The singles match between the best tennis players of the two countries turned out to be decisive. Moldova’s Radu Albot lost to Vladimir Ignatik 7-5, 7-6, 6-1. In the other match played on February 12, Andrei Gorban was beaten by Dmitri Jirmont 2-6, 6-4, 6-4. The Moldovan squad will fight Turkey’s team for keeping the place in the Euro-Africa Zone second group. The matches will take place on April 6-8.
