The Republic of Moldova and Romania launched the process of promoting the transnational nomination file for having the “Art of the national shirt with embroidered shoulder pad as an element of cultural identity in Romania and the Republic of Moldova” added to the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The common meeting of the national working groups was held in Iasi on February 1, IPN reports
A protocol signed in November 2018 envisions the intensification of cooperation in culture, including the cooperation of the sides in preparing the files for inscribing common heritage elements on the lists of the UNESCO Convention.
The Republic of Moldova and Romania already promoted three transnational nomination files for inscription on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity: “Men’s group caroling” (2013), ”Traditional techniques for making carpets” (2016), and “Cultural practices associated with March 1” (2017).
