The Government today approved the national program of cultural and artistic events dedicated to the Mihai Eminescu Year, established on the 175th anniversary of the poet's birth. The program includes social-cultural and educational activities, including poetry recitals and creative workshops, reading clubs and meetings with writers, publishers, poets and literary critics, IPN reports.
Culture Minister Sergiu Prodan said that the initiative is aimed at celebrating the work and personality of Mihai Eminescu through a series of actions that strengthen the national cultural identity and promote Romanian literary values.
According to him, the program includes 60 actions, but the celebration of the great poet will not be limited to this number. "This action will involve not only the Ministry of Culture and its subdivisions, but also all public authorities, both central and local," the minister said.
The expenses related to the implementation of the actions dedicated to the Mihai Eminescu Year will be covered from the account and within the limits of the allocations approved in 2025 in the budgets of the authorities/institutions involved. At the same time, local public administration authorities are recommended to realize their own plans dedicated to Mihai Eminescu Year and the 175th anniversary of the poet's birth.
