The jury of the national preselection for Eurovision selected 60 songs of the 83 taking part in the contest. The first stage of the competition, where the jury examined the recordings of the songs, closed on January 21. The competitors weren’t present.
Vitalie Cojocaru, director of Moldova’s Eurovision organizational committee, has told Info-Prim Neo that the preselection stage was rather difficult. “There were many songs and they were of a high quality,” he stated.
The songs chosen for the second preselection stage are available on the contest’s website eurovision.trm.md .
The second stage will take place on January 29. The jury will assess the life performance of the contenders. Only 21 of them will go through to the March 10 final. They will sing their songs at a live concert. The winner will be selected 50% by the jury and 50% by televoting.
The 57th Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Azerbaijan’s Baku between May 22 and 26.
