An Italian company donated motorbikes to the National Patrolling Inspectorate on January 24. Prime Minister Iurie Leanca attended the handover ceremony, IPN reports.

“The ten motorbikes donated to the Ministry of the Interior are a premiere for the national police. These units of transport will enable to patrol the areas that less accessible to vehicles, such as the yards of apartment buildings and parks,” said the Premier, quoted by the executive’s press service.

Iurie Leanca said the reformation of the Ministry of the Interior is a priority. In order to maintain the rapid pace of reforms and to make the people feel safe, it is important for the police to be equipped appropriately. Also today, the Prime Minster handed over the keys of ten new vehicles purchased by the Ministry of the Interior for the National Patrolling Inspectorate and the police stations of the General Police Inspectorate.

The company that donated the motorbikes announced its intention to set up an assembly line in Balti. As a result, there will be created new workplaces.
