National Library launches “National Calendar-2021”

The National Library of the Republic of Moldova has launched the “National Calendar-2021” that is conceived as an encyclopedic directory. It provides bibliographical notes about the most famous personalities from the fields of science, culture and arts from the country and abroad.

The publication is intended for all those who are interested in personalities and events of the history of the Romanian people and also in globally renowned figures who, by their works and deeds, marked the destiny and activity of the nations of the world, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the Library.

The calendar has 535 pages and consists of over 375 articles about national and foreign personalities and about 2,000 general information items about national and international anniversary events of 2021.

The “National Calendar-2021” includes personalities native of Moldova, reference names from the universal culture and civilization and famous figures from science, culture and arts and also traditional, national and international bank holidays, commemorative and professional days and other important anniversaries.

The calendar was designed by Valeria Matvei, Natalia-Maria Șveț, Maria Ciobanu, Elena Balinschi and Tatiana Luchian. The first such calendar was issued in 2000. Earlier, the National Library printed the “Librarian’s Calendar”.
