The National Library of Moldova has launched an exhibition of graphic art by the painter Vasile Ciurari. The artist told IPN that the exhibition is a reflection all his personal thoughts and states of mind he experienced over many years, while each artwork contains a riddle.

The painter combines elements of abstraction, surrealism and symbolism in his works. For a long time, he worked only in black and white. These are the colors that predominate in the Revelation exhibition, hosted by the Library. In recent years he has also brough some color to his works.

One of the works on display depicts the Chisinau City Hall. The painter captured the city’s coat of arms, the flag and the musical notes of the Chisinau national anthem. The theme of music is also reflected in several other works. In Mysterious Sounding, the author wanted to convey that music is a specific, angelic art, all sounds coming from angels.

Elena Pintilei, director of the National Library, stated that through art a person can express a wide range of feelings and moments. “Graphics is a more special part of art, not everyone succeeds in this field, because it is more linear, it requires a lot of attention from the painter”.

“In every work there is a lot of thought. If, perhaps, you have the initial feeling as if there is something, but you don't really understand what, when you take another look, when you meditate on the work, you will find yourself in many of these works of the author", said the art critic Gutiera Prodan.

The exhibition includes 25 graphic works and will run until April 14, in the central building of the Library, the Alexe Rău Conference Hall.
