National Library hosts exhibition devoted to poets Hadârcă and Strâmbeanu

Documents from the National Library’s collections which present the important moments remaining in the consciousness of the Bessarabian Romanians from the life and work of poets Ion Hadârcă (75 years since his birth) and Andrei Strâmbeanu (90 years since his birth) will be on display in the central block of the library from August 1, IPN reports.

In a press release, the National Library said that both of the poets, Ion Hadârcă and Andrei Strâmbeanu, and their works “remained a testimony to the struggle for historical truth, being among those who marked the History of the Romanian nation in post-war Bessarabia.

The exhibition includes both works of the poets and documents that reflect the role of the national renaissance and resistance movement, the evolution of events over time, the impact of these personalities on society.

There were exhibited about 120 documents, such as monographs, albums, periodicals, photographs from the collection of the National Archives Agency, divided into three groups: National Renaissance Movement: A Scrap of Memories, Ion Hadârcă, “... the poet of full burning”, and Andrei Strâmbeanu, “the man forgotten by years...”.

The exhibition can be visited in the central block of the National Library of the Republic of Moldova, on the second floor, until September 20.
