National Library celebrates Europe Days

The National Library of Moldova will celebrate Europe Days this year with a series of activities promoting European integration and the benefits of joining the European Union. The launch event will be held on May 8, at 11:00 AM, in the main building of the Library, with other activities to run until the end of the month.

Visitors will also be able to see publications on the history, achievements and challenges of the Council of Europe in an anniversary exhibition titled “Council of Europe: 75 years of strengthening the European space (1949-2024)”. The exhibition reflects the cooperation of Moldova, a member state of the CoE since 1995, under the organization’s Cooperation Programs and monitoring instruments.

Another exhibition contains information and audiovisual materials that reflect the entire journey made by the Republic of Moldova, from its first official step towards the European Union (the 1994 EU-Moldova Partnership and Cooperation Agreement,) until the EU candidate status at present.

Also, educational and informative sessions will be organized, between May 14-31, at the Pro-European Service and Communication Center of the National Library. The session “Europe for young people - Europe for you” will be organized for students, in partnership with the “Young European Ambassadors: Program. Students will be able to attend the session titled “European Moldova: The accession process of Moldova to the EU in a way that everyone can understand”, organized in partnership with the Institute for European Policies and Reforms.

The Embassy of Austria and the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Moldova will present the exhibition “Franz Kafka in Prague”. Also, the exhibition “Ingeborg Bachmann – Writing against War” will take place.
