The National Justice Institute (INJ), the organization to be responsible for training judges, prosecutors, lawyers, clerks and other employees of the law-enforcement bodies, will start its activity on September 1, 2007, although officially it will be inaugurated on January 1, 2007, Eugenia Fistican, INJ director, declared on Thursday, November 16 during a reunion of experts.
Within the frameworks of the reunion, which takes place on November 16-17, will be discussed the priorities of INJ and the elaboration of the training programs. Experts of the Council of Europe from France, Spain, Portugal, Estonia and Romania share their experience in the field of training legal officers and judges.
The reunion is organized within the Joint Programme between the European Commission and the Council of Europe for Moldova “Increased independence, transparency and efficiency of the legal system”. The reunion is attended by the Special Representative of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe in Moldova, Vladimir Ristovski, head of the Supreme Justice Court, Valeria Sterbet, general prosecutor of the Republic of Moldova, Valeriu Balaban and other members of INJ and of the law-enforcement bodies from Moldova and abroad.
A financing volume amounting to MDL 5.5 mln is planned for the institution.
