The head of the National Justice Institute Eugenia Fistican tendered her resignation after five of the 11 members of the Institute’s Board attending the meeting (there are 13 members in all) voted in favor of dismissing her from the post. The problem of her dismissal arouse after an employee of the Institute made accusations against Eugenia Fistican. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, Eugenia Fistican said that though the Board decided not to discharge her, she does not want to work in an institution together with Victoria Hadarca, the one who leveled accusations at her. Victoria’s brother Igor Hadarca told earlier a news conference that Eugenia Fistican’s daughter slapped his sister because she did not want to put her signature on an order providing for her dismissal from the post of head of the Institute’s Research Division. The incident happened in the office of the Institute’s head. Consequently, Victoria was hospitalized. The other side says the quarrel arouse after Victoria Hadarca insulted Eugenia Fistican. Eugenia Fistican said that at her suggestion, her daughter Elena Istrati was expelled from the Institute. “I asked that she be expelled because she acted incorrectly from juridical viewpoint when she slapped that woman, even if she protected me,” she said. In 14 days, the Institute’s Board will convene again to take a decision on the resignation offered by Eugenia Fistican.
