The National Greening Day “A tree for our eternity” will be marked on October 31. On this occasion, over 260,000 saplings will be planted all over the country, IPN reports.
The entities managed by the Forestry Agency “Moldsilva” will set up forests on an area of 548 ha. Within the national plan for extending wooded areas for 2014-2018, the forest companies this autumn will plant trees on an area of 2,500 ha owned by local public authorities.
The local public authorities of the first and second levels will plant 267,000 saplings. Most of these will be planted in Gagauzia, Ialoveni, Nisporeni and in the municipality of Chisinau.
A sum of 1 million lei will be allocated from the National Ecological Fund for purchasing saplings.
