The national futsal team of Moldova opened the FMF Cup tournament, which is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the foundation of the Moldovan Football Federation, with a victory. Vladimir Vusatyi’s pupils beat Greece 5-1, IPN reports.
Sergiu Tacot scored two goals for Moldova, alongside Muntean, Nicolaiciuc and Tambalist. “I’m satisfied with the performance of my pupils. We have a good team,” coach Vladimir Vusatyi told a news conference.
In the final, Moldova meets Azerbaijan, which won against the regional team of Romania’s Moldova by 6-3. “It won’t be an easy final as the Azerbaijani team includes a number of naturalized Brazilians, who are good players,” said the president of the Moldovan Football Federation Pavel Cebanu.
The encounter between Moldova and Azerbaijan takes place at the Futsal Arena in Ciorescu on April 23, starting at 6:30pm.
