National football team slip one spot in FIFA rankings

The loss to Romania and the draw with Kazakhstan made the national football team of Moldova slip one spot in the FIFA rankings compared with the previous month, to the 122nd.

The team trained by Alexandru Curteian are to play Sweden in the qualifying rounds of the 2016 European Championship. The Scandinavian team takes the 45th position in the FIFA rankings. The encounter between Moldova and Sweden takes place in Chisinau on March 27, starting at 9:45pm.

The other opponents of Moldova in the qualifying rounds have the following positions in the FIFA rankings: Austria – 23rd, Russia – 33rd, Montenegro – 67th, while Liechtenstein – 123rd. The rankings are topped by Germany, Argentina, and Columbia.
