The national football team of Moldova played 17 matches without wining a victory. On November 17, Moldova was beaten by Azerbaijan 2-1 in a friendly match. The last time Moldova won a victory on May 24, 2014 in an exhibition game against Saudi Arabia, IPN reports.

The Azeri team opened the score in the 32nd minute, when Catalin Carp scored an own goal. Alexandru Antoniuc tied in the 44th minute after receiving a suitable pass from Andrei Cojocari. Ramazanov scored the victory goal in the 49th minute. Moldova could yet win, but Dedov and Maxim missed very good occasions for scoring.

“We haven’t achieved good results for a period because we do not have important players who suffered injuries. We are looking for solutions,” Moldova manager Stefan Stoica told a news conference.

“I’m satisfied with the first half, even if we got a goal. It wasn’t easy because Moldova was preoccupied more with the defense,” said the coach of Azerbaijan Robert Prosineski.
