A National Cinematography Center will be created in Moldova. The lawmakers passed a new Cinematogrtaphy Law in the first reading, IPN reports.
The National Cinematography Center will be the central authority that will adjust its strategies to the European policy in the field by reforming the National Film Archive. Among the duties of the new institution will be to develop programs on conservation and to purchase movies.
One of the bill authors Ghenadie Ciobanu said that this structural reform will enable to more efficiently monitor the administration of the state cinematographic patrimony. “By correct and transparent financing as a result of contests, the cinema production strategy will be supported,” he stated.
The law regulates all the stages of cinematographic creation: production, distribution and keeping of movies.
