National Eurovision contest contenders known

Zdob si Zdub and Natalia Barbu, who had the best performance among Moldovan singers at Eurovision Song Contest so far, will take part again in the national competition that will bring together 100 singers and bands. The organizational committee’s chairman Vitalie Cojocaru has told Info-Prim Neo that among the competitors in the national preselection are Pasha Parfenii, Cristina Croitor, Eugen Doibani, the band Milenium and others. In 2005, Moldova’s representatives at Eurovision, Zdob si Zdub, ranked sixth in Kiev, while Natalia Barbu finished tenth in Helsinki in 2007. In 2009, Nelly Ciobanu took the 14th position, while last year Olia Tira & Sunstroke Project came in 22nd. This year the contest will be held in Germany’s Düsseldorf. The semifinals will take place on May 10 and 12, while the final on May 14.
