The National Agency for Energy Regulation on July 26 made public the price caps for fuels for the next two weeks. The prices of gasoline and diesel fuel were decreased, IPN reports.

Thus, the price cap for a liter of gasoline coded 95 is 15.52 lei, down 0.31 lei compared with the previous two weeks. The cap for diesel fuel is 13.54 lei, a decrease of almost 0.5 lei. The new prices will start to be applied on July 27.

Under the recently adopted legislative amendments, the Agency no longer has the power to set the price cap for liquefied petroleum gas. This will be done by those who possess licenses for the import and sale of fuels, based on a reasonable profit margin that is to be included in the new methodology.

The Agency calls on the people to report cases when the gas stations post higher prices than the price caps on the green line +373 800 10 800 or through the email address anre@anre.md.
