The Ministry of the Interior suggested creating a national council for the problems of war veterans and participants in armed conflicts. Under the draft decision, this will be a consultative collegial body that will coordinate state policies, the programs, plans and actions to protect the participants in armed conflicts, IPN reports.
The minister of the interior will hold the post of chairman of the council. This will also have two deputy chairpersons – the Government’s secretary general and the chief of the General Staff of the National Army. Besides representatives of state bodies, the council will also include persons from among public organizations whose areas of activity cover the problems of war veterans and participants in fighting.
Among the main tasks of the council will be to take part in the process of working out and doing reforms in the social sphere, coordination of national policies on the social protection of participants in armed conflicts and determination and participation in the implementation of the most efficient methods of social protection for armed conflict participants.
