National colleges and universities to receive computers from Chinese donation

A number of national colleges and universities, mainly from Chisinau, will receive 350 computers from a donation made by China to the Government of Moldova. A decision to this effect was taken at Tuesday's meeting of the executive, Info-Prim Neo reports. Besides computers, the education institutions will receive multifunctional sets for outfitting the commuter rooms in dormitories. Minister of State Victor Bodiu said that this is the first stage of implementing the executive's decision of November 3, concerning the provision with computers and connection to the Internet of the dormitories. Computer rooms will be set up in all the 600 university and college dormitories. The first 350 computers will go to the State University of Moldova, the Academy of Economic Studies, the Teacher Training University “Ion Creanga”, the Balti-based University “Alecu Russo”, the Cahul-based University “B.P. Hasdeu”, and the State Agrarian University of Moldova. Chinese computers will be also allotted to the construction colleges in Chisinau and Hancesti, the Technological College in Chisinau, and the National Commerce College of the Academy of Economic Studies.
