A National Cancer Register will be created in the Republic of Moldova. This will be an integrated system in which there will be introduced and processed data about nationwide incidence, prevalence and mortality through cancer. The Register will be managed by the Cancer Institute, IPN reports.
According to the authorities, as there is no functional Cancer Register, the real situation concerning cancer in the Republic of Moldova cannot be monitored and assessed and decisions based on records cannot be taken.
The Register will ensure the digitization of the processes of collecting, validating, analyzing, interpreting and disseminating data about cancer in adults and children.
Given that cancer in children differs from cancer in grownups, the National Cancer Register will contain a separate module about the registration, updating and interpretation of data regarding cancer in children aged between 0 and 19.
