The National Bureau of Statistics will undergo reorganization by being merged with the local statistics subdivisions and the Financial Reports Information Service, IPN reports, with reference to a Government decision proposed for public consultations.
After the reorganization, the National Bureau of Statistics will have by 86 fewer employees, 74 of whom will be public servants. The 35 local statistics subdivisions that have the status of legal entity will be reorganized into four regional statistics centers without the status of legal entity and will be incorporated into the Bureau.
The reorganization of the National Bureau of Statistics forms part of the commitments assumed by Moldova through the Association Agreement signed with the EU. All the official statistics branches and related bodies will be incorporated into the National Bureau of Statistics so as to ensure better functioning of the authority. This will enable to optimize the resources allocated at different stages of the official statistics production process so that the users are provided with relevant and credible statistical data in reasonable timeframes, says the informative note to the draft decision.
Under the draft decision, the Public Institution “Statistics Training Center will be created” by reorganizing the State-Owned Enterprise “Statistica Printing Office”.
