The beach soccer team of Moldova beat 5-4 the national team of Greece in the qualifying competition of the European Championships held in Moscow, qualifying for the next round, IPN reports.
Moldova won dramatically against Greece, managing to score the victory goal in overtime. Moldova was led 2-4, but recovered owing to the goals scored by Corneliu Pavalachi and Nicolae Schiopu. In overtime, the victory goal was scored with the head by Grigore Cojocari, who scored thus his second goal in that match.
The team trained by Vasile Arlet finished second in the group after Kazakhstan, but before Greece and Lithuania. The second qualifying round will be played on Italy’s Sardinia between September 6 and 9.
