National Bank’s prime deputy governor appointed

The parliament approved Victor Ciobanu as prime deputy governor of the National Bank of Moldova (BNM), deputy chairman of Administration Council. The deputies appointed to this position Ciobanu, the chairman of the Management Committee of the Bank „Moldindconbank”, as result of the letter of the governor Leonid Talmaci. Victor Ciobanu was born on 19 September 1966 in Chisinau. He graduated the Economy Faculty of the State University of Moldova in 1988. He worked as economist at the Scientific Producing Association „Codru”, and during 1990-1998, held different positions at the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ministry of National Economy, Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations and Ministry of Finance. Since 1998, and until now worked at „Moldindconbank”. Previously, till February, Dumitru Ursu, whose mandate expired, held the position of prime deputy governor. The members of BNM Administration Council are appointed for a 7-year period.
