The National Bank and the Ministry of Finance have signed an agreement that aims to improve the financial literacy of the general population by promoting basic concepts such as financial independence, financial planning, and responsible spending and saving practices, among others.

The agreement was signed by NBM head Octavian Armașu and Finance Minister Dumitru Budianschi.

“Together we will succeed in achieving financial inclusion in the Republic of Moldova, which largely depends on individual financial attitude and making well-thought-out and well-informed personal financial decisions”, said Octavian Armașu.

Dumitru Budianschi remarked that financial education is an indispensable attribute of modern society. It helps to save the results of hard work, avoid mistakes when doing business transactions and develop entrepreneurial skills, especially for young people. “Financial education is part of our lives, part of the decisions we make every day. The Ministry of Finance will support this process in all available ways, will provide useful, current and easy-to-understand information products, will be an active part in this project and will support all actors in its successful implementation”.

The National Bank has several partnerships with public institutions, education and non-governmental organizations in the field of financial education, the first being the "Give a sense to your money” project, launched three years ago.
