Students have the opportunity to take part in the International Financial Education Week together with the National Bank of Moldova (NBM). From March 17, the institution will organize training courses and workshops on various financial topics. Participation in the event will be possible through preregistration, IPN reports.

National Bank governor Anca Dragu noted that "a financially educated young generation is aware that the accumulation of financial knowledge means a future with responsible decisions in terms of savings, investments and loans".

"What is a financial market, what are the actors and their importance, what benefits can they offer to citizens – these are just a few questions the answers to which bring positive changes in everyone's personal perspective," said Anca Dragu.

Participants will discuss with mentors monetary policy decisions, the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA), how they can use the card to make secure online payments, the euro as a reference currency and many other current topics, important for a young consumer who wants to know how to make wise financial decisions, the NBM said in a press release.

A female leadership project to offer an open dialogue with international personalities will be launched as part of the event. According to the NBM, this initiative aims to inspire and support the formation of a new generation of financially educated women, confident and ready to become leaders in the economic and financial sectors.

As in previous editions, visits to the exhibition hall of the National Bank will be organized. The historical press offered by the Romanian State Mint to be exhibited at the NBM museum will be the attraction of the event.

Groups of up to 35 people over the age of nine will be formed. Students will be accompanied by a person responsible for the safety of minors during the trip or workshop.

Applications can be submitted until Friday, March 14, to the e-mail address edufin@bnm.md.

Global Money Week is an international initiative launched 13 years ago, which was joined by 176 countries.
