National Army servicemen received money certificates for purchasing apartments

184 National Army military men have received money certificates for the purchase of apartments, Info-Prim Neo reports. During the certificate awarding ceremony, Minister of Defence Vitalie Vrabie said the event, which is a premiere in the history of the National Army, marks a promising start in providing active and reserve servicemen with housing. Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin underlined the importance of the National Army reform, whose main goals are to provide the army with modern equipment and to create adequate military service and living conditions. Only a modern, well instructed army can defend the independence, sovereignty and integrity of the country, the presidential press service reported Vladimir Voronin as saying. In August, the Government allocated to the Ministry of Defence 127 million lei for ensuring the militaries with housing, money received from auctioning two plots of public property land. The Ministry of Defence announced a public tender auction for the purchase of housing for National Army military men serving in the garrisons based in Chisinau, Balti, Ungheni, Cahul and Floresti.
