National Army sappers defuse World War II bombs

A plane bomb, four artillery projectiles and nine landmines were recently detected in a field in Larguta village, Cantemir, Info-Prim Neo reports.
As the head of the press service of the National Army, lieutenant colonel Alexandru Galasan states, a bomb weighting 50 kg was found during farm works. Local authorities asked sappers involvement, that found in the same zone other 4 artillery projectiles and 9 mortar shells. All of them are of soviet production and remained active since the Second World War.
Another three explosives, which were found in Piatra, Orhei and Zagarancea villages, Ungheni, have been defused in the same period. A dangerous charge of powder was detected near the 24 kilometre of Cainari-Revaca railway road. As a result of repair works at the railway in Tapala village, Ialoveni, the workers traced an 82 mm calibre mortar shell.
According to statistics, the sappers deactivated 1087 explosives this year.
