The personal painting exhibition of the 13-year-old artist Valeria Duca was opened at the National Museum of Archeology and History of Moldova. The exhibit titled “Truth from the Children’s Mouth” was preceded by the launch of the artist’s plastic arts album titled “Valeria Duca”, Info-Prim Neo reports. Valeria Duca is a seventh grader at the Creativity and Inventions High School “Prometeu-Prim”. She started to paint three years ago. Her parents hired two expert teachers for her - Victor Ursu and Ion Serbinov, who are members of the Union of Plastic Artists of Moldova. This is her second personal exhibition, but she managed to exhibit her works in the most prestigious halls in Chisinau. “Painting helps me change the real things I do not like and create my own world on canvas. I work in my workshop when I have inspiration and spare time. I cannot control what’s happening. My hand moves as if by itself and the brush leaves traces. The work that appears is spontaneous. In general, I like every painting in my own way,” Valeria said at the opening of the exhibition. Tudor Braga, director of the exhibitions center “Constantin Brancusi” in Chisinau, considers that the parents’ love is the basis that helps Valeria assert herself. “Valeria has an exceptional talent. We have never had something like this in the history of our country,” Braga said. Besides painting, Valeria Duca also goes in for taekwondo. She already won the black belt and is also the youngest parachutist in Moldova. “The taekwondo is also an art, a martial art, which has much in common with painting, even if this seems strange at first sight. Taekwondo combines physical power, while the painting – the power of the spirit. Though they are opposites, I try to balance them,” Valeria said. The protagonist’s mother Victoria Duca said that Valeria likes to work hard and is lucky to have good teachers. Zinaida Varlan, vice director of “Prometeu-Prim”, said that Valeria is one of the best students of the school. She has only marks of 10 and is a sports champion with multiple international and national diplomas. “She manages everything because she is a clever and very talented child. We are proud of her,” Zinaida Varlan said. Valeriu Sava, director of the National Museum of Archeology and History, said that the painting exhibition is an important event in the museum’s life as this is an exceptional exhibit. Valeria Duca has exhibited 34 oil canvases. The exhibition will be open until June 10.
