National airline reports 11% rise in number of passengers

In February Air Moldova serviced 20,000 passengers, a 11 percent improvement from February 2009, the airline said in a press release, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
The rise was ascribed to bigger number of passengers on the flights from Chisinau to St. Petersburg (+62%), Bucharest (+18%), Moscow (+10%), Madrid (+10%), Frankfurt (+9%) and Istanbul (+2%).
Over 200 passengers were transported by Air Moldova from Moscow and St. Petersburg to Europe and back, with Chisinau being a transit point.
The flights operated by Air Moldova include 16 direct destinations – Frankfurt, Vienna, Istanbul, Lisbon, Madrid, Bucharest, London, Athens, Larnaca, Rome, Milan, Verona, Paris, Prague, Moscow, St. Petersburg. In the summer season Air Moldova will initiate regular flights to Sochi. The airline has two classes: Econom and Business.
Until the end March, the airline will add a new Embraer 190 to its fleet.
