The Cabinet led by Natalia Gavrilița has the duty to show that Moldova can be governed by honest and well-intentioned people, Prime Minister-Designate Natalia Gavrilița stated from the Parliament’s Rostrum. The team of professionals with which she will work will implement the government program “Moldova of Good Times”, IPN reports.

Natalia Gavrilița assured that the government will not steal and will not create laws that will enable to steal, will not divide the public money with percentage, will not found companies that subscribe to public procurement services, will not privatize state property in favor of sons and relatives and will not protect swindlers and monopolies.

“We will clear the state institutions of corrupt people, will do our best for justice to be freed from groups of interest that sell decisions that protect the thieves. We will do our best to recover the money stolen within the bank fraud and by other schemes, which is hidden in other countries or in Moldova,” stated Natalia Gavrilița.

According to her, the Government takes over in a difficult context. At foreign level, the pandemic wave caused by the COVID-19 variants spreads. The economic relations are redefined and the prices of fuel and raw material grow significantly. The challenges at domestic level include the economic recovery and the bracing for a new wave of pandemic, political violability and defective functioning of public institutions.

In this connection, during the first months of its mandate, the Government will prioritize four activity directions: management of the health crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, launch of the justice sector reform and the anti-corruption package, augmentation of people’s incomes and social protection of the vulnerable groups, and restoration of foreign financial assistance.

The government program is aimed at creating conditions at home for the people to be able to realize their potential, for the families to live together, for the economy to develop, while the state institutions to work in the interests of citizens. “Moldova of Good Times” means transformation of the state according to the European standards, which will bring the country closer to the perspective of integration into the EU. The Government will come with a package of measures for supporting the socially deprived groups in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Emigration and aging of the population are among the most serious problems of the country, alongside corruption, conflicts of interest and exodus of medical staff. The Government aims to design a legislative package that will enable to revitalize the justice system and to trace the ill-gotten gains, to work out a mechanism for checking the state institutions, to simplify the functioning rules for SMEs, to pursue an active and decent foreign policy aimed at restoring and strengthening the relations with Romania, Russia and other states.
