Moldova is to benefit from assistance in the European integration process and its regions should be prepared to attract development funds and investment, Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița stated in a news conference after the Cabinet meeting that was held in Bălți, IPN reports.

According to the Premier, the executive already finances major projects in Bălți, such as the construction of a regional hospital, sewerage projects, pilot projects in the justice system, support for the Experimental Technological Station in Bălți. The Government also finances the purchase of equipment for the Bălți Theater “Vasile Alecsandri”. The municipality received money from the Road Fund following the reallocation of funds to mayor’s offices. Large investments are made in “Alecu Russo” University.

Minister of Education and Research Anatolie Topală told the same news conference that the value of the food norm for students of technical and vocational education institutions will be raised by 20%, as the Government decided recently. Consequently, this value as from September 1, 2022 will be 14.40 le a day, up from 12 lei at present.

The students of technical and vocational education institutions receive free lunches during the academic year, except for the winter and summer vacations, internships, bank holidays and nonworking days.

Moldova’s secondary technical and vocational education system includes about 15,000 students.
